We are an Anglican society of Mission and Apostolic Works

The AM Canada promotes authentic, growing relationships with Jesus and one another that lead us to reach out to others in love. We are committed to graceful, organic and visionary service empowered by God’s Spirit and the raising, releasing and supporting of leaders for a variety of apostolic works.

AM Canada churches emphasize discipleship (getting to know and follow Jesus in a deeper way daily) and mission (reaching out to others who don’t yet know and follow Jesus).

We value diversity in expressing our faith, a faith that is rooted in our relationship with God, obedience to His Word, sensitivity to His Spirit and connections with other Christians historically, locally, regionally, and internationally.

We invite you to join this movement of rising, loving and leading with Christ across Canada.

I simply argue that the cross be raised again at the centre of the marketplace as well as on the steeple of the church. I am recovering the claim that Jesus was not crucified in a cathedral between two candles, but on a cross between two thieves, on the town garbage heap, at a crossroad so cosmopolitan they had to write his title in Hebrew, Latin and Greek. It was the kind of place where cynics talk smut, thieves curse, and soldiers gamble. That’s where he died. And that’s where Christians ought to be and what Christians ought to be about.

As was announced at our National Summit, Rev. Francis Awando has been prayerfully selected by our National Leadership Team to succeed Dave De Jong in the role of Administrative Support for the Anglican Mission in Canada, a role Dave joyfully served in for 10 years. Dave and Francis have been working towards this succession for several months, with Francis officially beginning his work October 16, 2022.

For those who have yet to meet or work with him, Francis and his wife Georgia have one son (Timothy), and each recently supported young people with Inner Hope Youth Ministries in their work as house parents while also participating in and ministering with Richmond Emmanuel Church. Francis has a wealth of ministry experience, theological training and an MBA in Strategic Management from University of Nairobi, Kenya, and is currently pursuing Masters level theological studies at Regent College in Vancouver while serving The Light of Christ Church family in Nanaimo.

Please join us in welcoming Francis into his administrative role!
